Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said the issue of Cabinet reshuffles is difficult, but if things do not move sufficiently fast, alternatives should be identified. She made the statements for the press after Vladimir Bolea was presented as the new minister of agriculture and food industry, IPN reports.

“There are a number of processes that are late. We want a higher speed in the implementation of particular reforms and actions in agriculture and this is very important given the drought, the economic crisis, the consequences of the war in Ukraine that hit particular sectors. That’s why we decided that a new impetus is needed to the Ministry’s work and Mister Bolea will be able to give this impetus and to accelerate a number of processes,” stated the official.

According to Premier Gavrilița, the issue of changes is difficult because a lot of persons who accepted jobs in the Cabinet gave up high-paying jobs. But times are difficult and a higher speed is needed in a number of areas. The policies should be better prioritized. Now that a year since taking over passed, alternatives will be looked for if particular priorities are not placed at the forefront and if things do not move sufficiently fast.

As to the decision to name MP Vladimir Bolea as minister of agriculture, Natalia Gavrilița said this appointment wasn’t a surprise and the press hadn’t been informed beforehand probably due to shortage of time.

The new minister of agriculture and food industry Vladimir Bolea took an oath of office in the presence of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița. Later, he was presented to the team of the Ministry of Agriculture.
