Natalia Catanoi was suspended from the post of head of the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center by an order signed by Minister of Defense Ala Nemerenco. By the same order, the minister instructed to create a commission to conduct an internal inquiry, IPN reports.

According to the document, Natalia Catanoi is accused of defective management in emergency situations based on complaints made by patients and employees of the institution. For her part, Natalia Catanoi said she wasn’t informed about the existence of complaints or dissatisfaction referring to her.

“I hadn’t been inspected by someone during these six months of work. I was one of the best emergency medicine specialists of the Republic of Moldova. I will challenge my suspension and will return to my post,” Natalia Catanoi told a news conference.

She noted that the accusations of non-professionalism are groundless, but she will leave the system only after she will see justice being done. “I’m a professional and the management cannot be defective as long as I had a team of professionals behind me. But it’s clear that if you are not wanted in the system, you cannot work,” stated Catanoi, adding that she didn’t steal and didn’t break the law and will leave with her head held high.

The Ministry of Health hasn’t commented on the suspension of Natalia Catanoi.
