Dignity and Truth Party president Andrei Nastase is asking the Moldovan law enforcement to investigate a series of Facebook accounts that use the party’s visual identity and his personal image to disseminate fake and defamatory information.

Nastase says such malicious activity has intensified as an anti-government rally, which is expected to attract thousands on August 26, draws nearer.

“The worst thing is that they are inciting to illegal, anti-constitutional activities, thus sabotaging completely our message, which is to gather in big numbers in order to demonstrate peacefully and firmly against the abuses of the Moldovan government”, complained Andrei Nastase.

In particular, he denounced and disclaimed any association with an FB account called “Andrei Năstase – primar de Chișinău”, which posts in the party’s and his own name provocative messages instigating to violence and “civil war”.

The politician stressed that the party’s only official website is called platformada.md, and there’s only one official Facebook account for Andrei Nastase, which features a blue verification badge and is followed by over 20,000 users. Nastase also owns a personal Twitter account and another one on Odnoklassniki.
