The National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) is taking into account the possibility of adjusting the electricity charges for end-users. It will pronounce after it studies the new contract signed with the Kuchurgan power plant (MGRES), IPN reports.
“As a result of the signing by Energocom SA of a new contract on the purchase of electrical energy with the Moldovan Power Plant (MGRES), new conditions were created on the market. This way, after the suppliers present the contracts, the Agency will decide if the conditions for adjusting the charges are met by taking into account the purses price of 66 USD/MWh,” the institution noted in a press release.
Energocom signed a contract valid for half a year with MGRES of the Transnistrian region for the supply of electrical energy at the price of US$66 per MWh, by US$7 less than the price for the last four months. About 282,000 MWh of power are to be monthly bought from MGRES, which is over 90% of the electricity needed by the consumers from the right side of the Nistru River. In April, Energocom will also purchase approximately 17,400 MWh of electricity or 5.5% of the necessities from Romania’s SN Nuclearelectrica SA.
