NAER approves higher electricity charges

Household customers in the center and south of the country that are serviced by Premier Energy SRL will pay 3.15 lei/kWh, by 0.51 lei or 21.6% more than now (VAT excluded). For household customers in northern Moldova that are serviced by Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord SA, the new electricity charge will be 3.21 lei/kWh, up 0.35 lei. The charges approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation are slightly lower than those requested by the suppliers. The new prices will start to be applied when they are published in the Official Gazette, IPN reports.

According to the Agency, the electricity charges were adjusted following the 34% increase (from 3.24 lei lei/kWh to 4.33 lei/kWh) in the price at which electrical energy is purchased from the central supplier SA Energocom, the increase in the import prices of electricity and the depreciation of the national currency against the U.S. dollar by about 6% from the value used to determine the prices since June 8, 2022.

The new regulated prices for the supply of electricity by Premier Energy, differentiated according to the delimitation points or places of consumption of end users, are: 2.51 lei/kWh for the electricity supplied at entry points of transmission networks; 2.65 lei/kWh at exit points of transmission networks; 2.68 lei/kWh for end users whose installations are connected to high voltage distribution networks (35–110 kV); 2.81 lei/kWh - medium voltage distribution networks (6–10 kV); 3.15 lei/kWh - low voltage distribution networks (0.4 kV).

For Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord, the following differentiated regulated prices were approved: 2.27 lei/kWh for the electricity supplied at entry points of transmission networks; 2.42 lei/kWh - at exit points of transmission networks; 2.61 lei/kWh - for end users whose installations are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6–10 kV), 3.21 le/kWh - low voltage distribution networks (0.4 kV).
