The director of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) Ruslan Flocea will not attend the November 18 sitting of Parliament where the MPs are to examine the report on the work done by the Center during January 2016 – September 2021. According to Ruslan Flocea, it is a formal exercise as the decision to dismiss him was already taken, IPN reports.

Ruslan Flocea said that at least this results from the public statements of representatives of the Party of Action and Solidary, who, on every occasion, assert that the NAC director will be fired after the so-called assessment.

“During two months, I took part together with the team in the hearings staged by the parliamentary commission and presented absolutely all the requested information, with concrete responses to the questions formulated by the MPs. I provided explanations where details were necessary. Regrettably, the report published today on the Parliament’s website presents a distorted reality. It is crass manipulation of figures and full ignorance of the processes,” Ruslan Flocea said in a statement transmitted to the press.

Ruslan Flocea
was named NAC director by Parliament in July 2019. Earlier, he held the post of secretary general of the President’s executive staff.
