Having a pro-Russian attitude means destroying any development prospect as a state. The pro-Russian parties are parties of the past, which will disappear soon all over the world, Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, said when being asked what would happen to Moldova if pro-Russian force came to power here. According to him, the Republic of Moldova can choose between the security and prosperity offered by the European Union and the terror and crimes offered by the Russian Federation, IPN reports.

The adviser to the Ukrainian President expressed his surprise at the fact that the eventual return of pro-Russian forces to power can be yet discussed in Moldova, which neighbors Ukraine. According to Podolyak, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova should realize that Russia means terror, crime and rapes.

“It is evident that Russia means wars, crimes and provocations. The adoption of a pro-Russian position for economic reasons, because Russia could deliver energy resources at a lower price during a very short period of time, is like climbing on a chair to be closer to the rope that will strangle you, from political and economic viewpoints. It is absolutely incorrect and illogical. I think all the pro-Russian reserves should disappear despite the huge sums of money invested by Russia in pro-Russian parties and lobby groups. Russia will not continue existing in its current variant, while the pro-Russian parties from other countries will always be considered outsiders and will cause irritation,” Mykhailo Podolyak stated in an interview with Vocea Basarabiei channel.

He expressed his conviction that after the genocide that Russia organizes in Ukraine, no party that promotes the notion “Russian world” can be successful. All the countries renounce the amicable relations with Russia.

“The pro-Russian parties are parties of the past that will slowly disappear across the glove. I will give you an example. Recently, the President of Serbia, which for a long period of time had conducted a policy to orient itself to the Russian Federation, said that they categorically do not recognize Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk as territories of Russia. They have a negative attitude to the war caused by Russia in Ukraine. This points to a radical change in the community’s position, even among political elites. Accepting now a pro-Russian position means ruining the development strategy. Moldova should categorically place emphases either on Europe, which means the European market, European living standards, security guarantees, or on Russia, which can come at any moment with tanks to kill children,” stated Mykhailo Podolyak.

The adviser gave the example of Eastern Ukraine that was earlier considered to be mainly populated by pro-Russian people speaking Russian. He noted that 1,500 towns were fully destroyed by the Russian shelling and the population there no longer wishes to have a pro-Russian attitude.
