Music group “Children of the Sun” from Chisinau will take part, along with the French band „Nadara”, at the Independent Producers International Film Festival - IPIFF 2006, that began on Monday, September 4, in Constanta. „Children of the Sun” will present the show „Satra”, in which songs of the Emil Loteanu movie will play, and the French will hold a concert with song from “Transilvania” movie.
According to the Romanian press, the first movie festival from Romania dedicated to producers - IPIFF – is intended to look at the less known movie phenomenon, but nether the less important – movie production and people from this industry.
IPIFF comes with a wide array of movies, dedicated to the most recent Romanian productions, including national premiers, as well as the most popular local productions, present at several festivals. A short movies section will also be present (including the movie “Marilena of the P7” directed by Cristian Nemescu, recently deceased in a traffic accident), as well as a documentaries section.
The IPIFF also presents to the public a non-competitive section, Panorama, which will present foreign productions in premiere on the Romanian screens.
A new section is the training in movie production, organized during the whole festival with help from the prestigious UK organization New Producers Alliance, which for 10 years organizes this kind of trainings. The training is a short course on all the production stages: script and project development, the evolution from short movies to full movies, financing, sales and distribution.
The IPIFF prizes will be awarded on September 10.
IPIFF is an event organized by the Regional Council of Constanta and the Film and The Union of Film and Audiovisual Producers of Romania, UPFAR-ARGOA.
