The authorities in Durlesti call upon the Chisinau City Hall and the law enforcement bodies to hasten the investigations into the murders and robberies committed in the town during the last year. In Monday’s meeting of City Hall officials, Mayor of Durlesti Nicolae Crudu said the people are very scared. “We had four bodies during a year. The crime in Ialoveni, as the police say, happened also on the land of Durlesti. The last case, when a councilor of the Liberal Democratic Party was shot during an armed robbery, was the last drop. We feel helpless. We think all the crimes were committed by one and the same person,” said the mayor. According to Nicolae Crudu, his daughter was also robbed. “They vandalized her car in her yard and stole what was more expensive. The police told my daughter to bring the car to the police station for examination, instead of going to the scene themselves,” he said. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the situation in Durlesti is serious, but stressed that everyone should contribute to identifying the authors of the crimes. “All the persons holding important positions on the Durlesti Council and the Chisinau Municipal Council, and at the Durlesti mayor’s office, the mayor general, the Ministry of the Interior and the other law enforcement bodies bear equal responsibility,” he stated. Last week, a Liberal-Democrat councilor in Durlesti was injured from a hunter gun by an individual who broke into his house at night. On April 1, a girl aged 15 and her boyfriend of 18 were found dead in a car near the monastery in Durlesti. In September, a man from Ialoveni and his lover were discovered dead in a car on the Chisinau – Ialoveni road. In both of the cases, the victims were shot from hunter guns. The next day after the murder in Durlesti, the police arrested a 33-year-old man suffering from mental disorders, who is being investigated as a suspect. A specialized group of prosecutors are probing the murders, helped by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior.
