Munitions were discovered near a cemetery in Vulcanesti town at a depth of 1.5 meters below ground. According to the press office of the Ministry of the Interior, the munitions date from 1991-1995. Officers and combat engineers of the Vulcanesti police commissariat found 24 grenades, 21 detonators and a grenade launcher AGP 7, Info-Prim Neo reports. In December 1994, the Parliament of Moldova adopted a decision to recognize the autonomy of the territorial unit Gagauzia. The decision was preceded by a military conflict that arose after the separatist movement Gagauz Halkı proclaimed the so-called Gagauz Republic in the districts of Comrat, Ceadar-Lunga and Vulcanesti of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic.
