Municipality promised to repair water supply networks to assure hot water supply

The Chisinau City Hall promised it will repair the water pipes and networks from public coffers and “Termocom” JSC resources and will make sure all Chisinau blocks are supplied with hot water. Interim mayor Vasile Ursu declared on Monday, during a meeting of the City Hall, that at present there are blocks with corroded hot water networks because for 3-7 years no hot water was supplied. According to him, the residents request central hot water supply, as heating water with boilers is too expensive, and can reach MDL 200 per month. He arrived at this conclusion after last week he met residents of several blocks. According to the mayor, they declared they are ready to dispose of their boilers if they would be constantly connected to a central hot water supply. The mayor states that the residents “are not to be blamed for the previous misunderstandings between the City Hall and „Termocom”, when the issue of hot water was regarded as a political element”. “This period is long gone and we, together with the hot water supplier, must find the required financial resources to repair internal water networks”, the mayor declared. At present, 1174 out of the 1328 blocks that can be connected to the hot water supply have hot water.
