The City Hall of Chisinau Municipality intends to prohibit, by any possible means, placing of advertising announcements by citizens on the city’s pillars and trees.
Within the session on Monday, November 27, the interim mayor Vasile Ursu prescribed the head of the Municipal police, Constantin Avornic, that the Administrative Contravention Code should be revised with the purpose of increasing the fines against persons who glue announcements in unauthorized places. Ursu suggested the police to identify persons who will oppose the interdictions, through the phone numbers included in the announcements.
In the opinion of the mayor, by sticking publicity on pillars and trees, citizens exteriorize their lack of culture. He also added that for eliminating these announcements City Hall employees spend too much time and money.
On the other hand, he requested the interim head of the Architecture and Urbanism Department, Nicon Zaporojan, to work out a concept concerning the authorized placing of citizens’ advertisements. According to Ursu, they should be placed so that “the image of the city isn’t harmed”.
