Eleven children from Chisinau who remained without parental care – lyceum graduates of the 2017 class – will collect by 5,000 lei in assistance from the municipality. On May 26, the young people took part in the traditional meeting organized at the Chisinau City Hall by the Municipal Children’s Rights Protection Division, IPN reports.
“Dear graduates, we have known you since you were children and started to be monitored by the division and guardians. You played and looked around. Now you are grownups and are to take exams that will show what you achieved during these years. We wish you success and fulfillment of your dreams,” said the Division’s acting head Rodica Terehovschi.
“I’m glad that you are close to graduating the lyceum. Those who were near you in time planted good seeds in a fertile soil and I’m sure that in time these will take roots,” said Lucia Caciuc, adviser on social matters to the mayor of Chisinau.
The local tutelage authority of Chisinau municipality monitors 1,534 children who remained without parental care. Of these, 11 graduate the twelfth grade, while 55 the ninth grade this year.
