Municipality of Ungheni named again Youth Capital

After 11 years, Ungheni was again chosen as the Youth Capital. Ungheni was the first town in Moldova that was named Youth Capital, in 2011. The project filed to the contest obtained the largest score, IPN reports, quoting the Ungheni mayor’s office.

According to representatives of the mayor’s office, this title enables to organize different events devoted to the young generation, such as the Marathon of young families for health, ECO-Innovation Hackathon, the international forum “Young People – Ambassadors of Civic Engagement”, the training course on project management, the School of Journalism, the Gala of Active Young People and different competitions.

“The town has developed implementation and local infrastructure capacities. As to the local public administration’s experience in implementing youth projects, the municipality of Ungheni has many partners,” say the minutes of the assessment commission chaired by Sergiu Gurin, secretary of state of the Ministry of Education and Research.

The contest to choose the Youth Capital 2023 was launched by the Ministry of Education and Research on September 27. For implementing this program, the Ministry will allocate about 1 billion lei and will also offer methodological and logistic support.
