Municipality initiates public debates on new local taxes

The Chisinau administration has opened public debates on the new tax for retail outlets and companies that provide social services on the territory of Chisinau municipality, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Chisinau City Hall. The first stage of the public debates will take place at each of the five district head’s offices of the town on December 24 – 27. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca will take part in the debates. There are invited economic entities, experts, and representatives of civil society and the media. The draft decision on the setting of new local taxes is aimed at optimizing the local taxes so as to avoid the discrimination of economic entities and at increasing the taxes for outlets that sell tobacco products and alcoholic beverages and for gambling activities, the Chisinau City Hall has said in a communiqué.
