Ten young people from Chisinau on December 2 received Municipal Youth Awards in science, technology, literature and arts. The awards are conferred annually by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council. The winners of the contest received laureate diplomas, honorable mentions and money awards, IPN reports.
This way the authorities aim to encourage the artistic aptitudes and innovatory spirits of the young people who achieved remarkable results in different areas of activity during the past two years. The expert commission chose ten young people who became holders of the Municipal Youth Award to the value of 10,000 lei.
In science, awards were given to: Corina Gribincea – economy, Nadejda Butnari – education, Radu Buzatu – physics, Iuliana Radu – medicine, Alexandru Prisac – law, and Silvia Racovita – chemistry.
The laureates in literature and arts are: Vasile Gribincea – literature, Dumitru Mitu – musical art, Pavel Efremov – musical art, and Daniela Burlaca – theatrical art.
Honorable mentions to the value of 2,000 lei were awarded to another ten young people. These are: Ghenadie Sirbu, Oleg Palamarciuc, Natalia Borodin, Tatiana Mancheva, Cornel Coser, Mariana Lozinschi, Victor Manolachi, Vadim Vasiliu and Ecaterina Mardari. The encouragement award to the value of 1,000 lei went to Vladimir Vohmeanin.
The contest for the Municipal Youth Awards in science, technology, literature and arts was initiated in 1996. It is held annually and has over 2,000 laureates designated so far.
