Municipal services get financing for cleanup

A sum of 11.7 million lei will be now allocated from the reserve fund of Chisinau municipality for alleviating the consequences of the snowstorms of April 20 and 21. The money was distributed to the municipal services and enterprises, IPN reports.

According to the Chisinau City Hall, the Public Amenities Division was allotted 4 million lei for collecting and transporting the downed trees and branches and for repairing the roofs of apartment buildings damaged as a result of the snowfalls.

The municipal enterprise “Green Areas Association” will get 2.7 million lei for purchasing the necessary equipment, contracting transport services and remunerating employees.

A sum of 2 million lei will go to the road maintenance company “Exdrupo”, which is to repair the roadway damaged by the elements.

The Chisinau Electric Transport Company will receive 1.7 million lei for restoring the contact lines and replacing the downed poles.

The lighting enterprise “Lumteh” will be allocated 500,000 lei for restoring public illumination and replacing the downed electricity poles.

The district head’s offices received by 100,000 lei for signing contracts for the collection and transportation of broken branches and downed trees.

The commission for the management of the reserve fund also decided to allocate 20,000 lei to the family of Mihail Filipschii, who died crushed by a falling tree on the territory of primary school No. 90 of Botanica district on April 25.

The commission will meet weekly to allocate money for carrying out works to clean up the mass caused by the heavy snowfalls of April 20 and 21. In an extraordinary meeting on April 25, the Chisinau Municipal Council decided to augment the reserve fund by 20 million lei.
