Municipal Police head to provide explanations at Chisinau City Hall

The commissioner of the Municipal Police Iacob Gumenita will be invited to the Chisinau City Hall to offer explanations. At the City Hall’s meeting on Monday, deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna said that more than a half of the kvass stalls in Chisinau work illegally. The police was informed about this, but did not take measures, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The kvass is sold without documents of origin and quality certificates, while the sellers do not have medical certificates so that the buyers can get poisoned on hot days,” Furtuna said. According to the deputy mayor, when the municipal services ask to present the documents showing that the kvass stalls were authorized to work, the sellers make reference to an employer that they don’t know. Furtuna said that the Municipal Police was notified of this, but no steps have been taken yet. The Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca demanded that Iacob Gumenita be summoned to the City Hall. He promised that the Municipal Police, which is financed from the Chisinau taxpayers’ money, will be soon decentralized and placed under the local public authorities’ subordination. Of the 104 stalls that sell kvass, 52 do not have certificates of origin for this drink.
