Several councilors were displeased, on Wednesday, June 21 at the meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), with the way the official municipal delegations that participate at different events abroad are formed and of their efficiency. The discussions started during examining the schedule of the abroad events for 2006.
The councilors formulated claims to the International Relationships Department which has the obligation to form the official delegations, saying that this department should present real results, not to deal only with the purchase of tickets and elaborating schedules. Especially, the independent councilors and those of the “Moldova Noastra” Alliance expressed their protests, and justified their pretensions by the fact that in the lists of the official delegations usually the communist councilors are included.
As a retort the head of IRD, Ion Capatana said that the department solicits the proposals of the specialized CMC commission, which name the persons that must be included in the delegations.
On the base of the declarations made by Capatana, while approving the schedule of the foreign events, the municipal councilors proposed to include, from now on, in the decision that the candidatures must be approved by the heads of all CMC factions, taking into consideration the fact that almost all the heads of specialized commissions are on the lists of the Communists Party.
The councilors of People’s Christian-Democratic Party were also unpleased of IRD’s activity, proposing to rename it into the Department for Regional Cooperation and European Integration.
At the solicitation of the independent councilor, Mihai Roscovan, IDR must present reports on the activity of the delegations that left for foreign countries, and MNA Councilor, Oleg Cernei proposed to the department to elaborate new conditions for selecting the candidatures that must be included in these delegations.
CMC will approve, supplementary, the members of the delegation, which will participate at the Days of Chisinau in Targoviste city, Romania.
