Municipal councilor complains about abundant building sites in Chisinau’s historical center

A municipal councilor requested the Chisinau Municipal Council during the meeting on Thursday, September 12, the list of the commercial societies and of the individual persons, to which construction authorizations in the historic center of Chisinau were issued. These solicitations were made by the municipal councilor Alexandru Corduneanu, member of People’s Christian-Democrat Party, who asks for legal explanations on the basis of which these authorizations were issued. According to him, lately in the historical zone of Chisinau, the number of building sites “grows like mushrooms after an April rain”, despite a Governmental decision from September 2004. It stipulates a moratorium on the construction of buildings in the historical center and in the green spaces of the municipality. According to the Governmental decision, exceptions regarding the construction of states in Chisinau’s historical region and in the green spaces must be performed on the grounds of the detailed urban plans, which must be coordinated with the Construction Department, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and which must be approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council, Corduneanu said, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
