The municipal cleanup operator during April 13-15 will be collecting free such recyclable waste as paper, cardboard and PET packaging stored separately on waste storage platforms in the districts of the capital city, the Chisinau City Hall has said.
About 1,600 special containers were set up in the city for the separate storage of waste. The waste needs to be thrown into the containers intended for particular types of waste: plastic and metal in the yellow bin, paper and cardboard in the blue bin, while mixt waste in zincified bins, says a press release that is quoted by IPN.
The municipal cleanup operator separately collects the recyclable waste free of charge for four times a month.
The local public authorities of Chisinau call on the residents of the municipality to continue sorting solid waste and to encourage other people to do the same “Only together we can contribute to a healthy environment, a clean and neat city! Show that you care!”, urged the municipal administration.
The cleanup company “Autosalubritate” is implementing the project “Chisinau Solid Waste” that is financed by the EBRD, EIB, E5P and the municipality of Chisinau. As part of the same project, there will be modernized the waste transfer station in Ciocana, including by building a sorting line that will enable to more efficiently manage recyclable waste.
