The Municipal Center for Preventive Medicine requested the directors of kindergartens in the capital to respect the sanitary-hygienic regime in order to avoid cases of infectious diseases among children. This issue was discussed Wednesday November 22 as part of a meeting attended by the managers of kindergartens, which was held at the general Education, Youth and Sports Division. Over the past three years, in three kindergartens there were registered more outbreaks of salmonella and dysentery. Sporadic cases were reported in many institutions. The last case was registered in late October at the Child and Education in Family Center. According to the state sanitary chief doctor of Chisinau municipality Iurie Panzaru, cases of infectious diseases are happening because of not respecting the sanitary and anti-epidemic regime. Besides the acute diarrhea diseases, cases of tuberculosis, pediculosis and scab are reported in kindergartens. According to Panzaru, inspections among children in the morning are obligatory. The employees of kindergartens must also be subjected to medical controls. The minimum fine for not respecting the sanitary-hygienic regime in kindergartens is of 2,000 lei, the maximum one - of 20,000 lei. In the last six years, the Municipal Center for Preventive Medicine applied at least seven fines. As many as 145 kindergartens, where over 2500 employees are working, operate in Chisinau. The kindergartens are attended by over 27,000 children.
