The municipal authorities say that the construction from Anton Crihan Street identified during the Chisinau City Hall’s meeting held in open air at the start of last week should be demolished. It was ascertained that the head of Centru district Petru Budurin was directly involved in this case. His wife Svetlana Budurin was the owner of the construction. At Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Gheorghe Railean, head of the Construction Authorization Division, said that all the unauthorized buildings should be pulled down. According to him, during investigations it was established that the given construction was built by violating the construction authorization. If the building does not correspond to the construction project outlined in the authorization, under the normative documents this authorization is considered void. In addition, the construction company should be under the supervision of the control bodies, the municipal functionary said. Nicolae Railean also said that the State Construction Inspectorate is drawing up the respective documents over the identified contraventions. The administrative commission of the Centru district head’s office will also take a decision on the future of this construction. Earlier, Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked district head Petru Budurin to present an explicative note over the irregularities identified during last week’s control. As it turned out, Budurin provided written explanations, but avoided mentioning his personal involvement. Asked by the mayor why he did not refer to this, Budurin said that he was waiting to be summoned for a tête-à-tête meeting. He promised to present the given information in written form. During the raid carried out at the beginning of last week, Budurin initially denied any personal involvement in the abovementioned construction. But when a neighbour said he had evidence, Budurin defended himself, saying he did nothing wrong. The neighbour said that the district head was photographed and recorded on a tape as saying that he owned that plot of land and was giving instructions to continue the construction works, though the building was located on an aqueduct. According to the mayor, the district head will be held accountable according to the legislation: reprimanded, fined or even dismissed.
