The Central Electoral Commission has notified the General Prosecutor's Office about a multiple voting case in the October 20 election. The case involved a man from Soroca who has voted twice.

According to CEC Secretary Maxim Lebedinschi, the citizen from Soroca voted at the polling station on election day, where he registered using his identity card. Later, the same person was admitted at the District Hospital due to health reasons. "When the election officials came to the hospital with the mobile ballot box in order to ensure that patients can express their right to vote, the gentleman voted repeatedly", the CEC secretary said.

The violation was attested when the election officials returned to the polling station and entered the voter’s data into the SIAS Elections Information System, where it was found that the man has already voted.

The electoral bodies referred the case to prosecution bodies, so that the man could be held accountable.
