MSIF to be responsible for implementation of projects financed by Romania

The Moldova Social Investment Fund  (MSIF) will be the public institution responsible for the preparation and implementation of the list of projects financed by the Government of Romania and for the reporting on the implementation of the list IPN reports, quoting a Government decision.

A sum of €3 million intended for developing education infrastructure and creating better conditions for children who attend kindergartens was recently transferred to the Fund’s account. This way, 244 kindergartens in 33 districts will be renovated with Romania’s financial support. Depending on current necessities, there will be repaired the roofs, cooking and sanitary facilities, purchased teaching aids and built playgrounds, festivity halls and gymnasiums.

The Governments of Moldova and Romania on April 27, 2010 signed an agreement on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program with €100 million in non-reimbursable financial assistance provided by Romania to Moldova. Over 900 kindergartens of the existing over 1,500 have been renovated so far with these funds.
