The works to build the 400 kV Vulcănești–Chisinau overhead power transmission line (OHL) and the Vulcănești Back-to-Back Substation were declared public utility of national interest. Parliament gave a final reading to a bill to this effect, adopting it, IPN reports.
The bill, which is envisioned by the Energy Strategy of the Republic of Moldova until 2030, stipulates the mechanism for resolving disputes related to the monitoring of the environmental and social impact of the planned works.
The Government will launch the procedure for purchasing the necessary lots and will allocate financial resources for working out and implementing the action plan for transferring and compensating for damage caused by permanent or temporary exportation of land.
The persons affected by the expropriation procedures will be paid 20 million lei damage.
The construction of the Vulcănești-Chisinau OHL is part of the Energy System Development Project of the Republic of Moldova (PDSE) to ensure the interconnection of energy systems in Romania and Moldova. The total budget for the works is €260 million for a period of four years.
