Update /4:00pm/ The MPs of the Party of Socialists and of the Shor Party resumed the vote on a number of bills, while the opposition MPs are protesting. The bills are presented by authors, being put to the vote at the suggestion of the responsible commissions. This way, there were adopted the draft law on the mandatory health insurance funds for 2021, the bill to amend and supplement the Code of Audiovisual Media Services, the bill on the functioning of languages spoken on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, the bill to supplement Article 27 of the law on the special legal status of Gagauzia. The proposal to transfer the SIS from the Parliament’s subordination under the management of Parliament was adopted in two readings. Deputy Speaker Vlad Batrîncea chairs the sitting and his colleagues from the PSRM barred the opposition MPs’ access so that they could not disconnect his microphone. In an atmosphere of complete chaos, Vlad Batrîncea made mistakes for several times, putting to the vote bills that were already adopted.
The draft state budget law and draft state social insurance law for 2021 were adopted in the first reading, without being debated, in an atmosphere of chaos and altercations. The opposition blocked the central rostrum and the microphone of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Vlad Batrîncea, who chaired the sitting, IPN reports.
After a number of breaks and repeated barricading of the rostrum, the MPs returned to the assembly hall. Vlad Batrîncea asked for the opinion of the responsible commission, which proposed that the bills should be put to the vote. These were voted on without the authors presenting them and without the draft laws being discussed.
While the opposition MPs blocked the central rostrum, chanting “Shame!”, the MPs of the Party of Socialists and of the Shor Party adopted the three bills. In the end, the microphone of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament was blocked and the MPs of all the groups brawled near the presidium. The live broadcast from Parliament was stopped.
