MPs of the government coalition are optimistic about the relations with the European Union and say the work done by the current government was appreciated by the MEPs who visited Moldova last week. Such statements were made in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
Liberal MP Alina Zotea said the vulnerabilities faced by Moldova were created by the previous governments. “MEP Andi Cristea said we must overcome the vulnerabilities. But these derive from the economic crisis caused by the previous governments. The governance is now stable and the vulnerabilities can be overcome,” she stated.
Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu said there are now no impediments that would hinder the government’s work. “The Filip Government during two months did more than the Government of last autumn. This could not work because it was affected by political conflicts. Five very important legal acts were drafted, aimed at ensuring stability in the energy and banking sectors. I think we will have convictions in the case of the thefts from the banking system by this yearend. A sum of 500 million lei was already restored and the European delegation appreciated our work. With a stable Government, we will overcome all the vulnerabilities,” he stated.
Former Communist MP Igor Vremea also expressed his optimism. “The people think that only Filat was arrested in the case of the bank frauds. But more persons are actually investigated. Among these are decision-makers from banks and entrepreneurs. The Europeans appreciated this,” he said.
