The MPs on Friday will hold the first sitting of Parliament of the ordinary autumn session. A decision in this regard was taken by the legislature’s Standing Bureau, IPN reports.
The Standing Bureau approved the agenda of the meeting. The MEPs are expected to vote on a series of measures to support farmers affected by this year’s drought. An amendment to the Financing Agreement with the International Development Association on the supporting of higher education is to be ratified.
The agenda also includes a draft amendment to the Education Code, which allows for the integration of artistic education into the general education system, and a draft amendment to the Parliament decision on the establishment of the Special Commission for the identification of measures to overcome the crisis in the agricultural sector.
The plenary sitting was scheduled to start at 03:00 p.m.
According to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, the legislature has two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session begins in February and ends in July, while the autumn session starts in September and closes in December.
