The lawmakers and representatives of civil society this year will come together for the fifth annual conference “Cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society”. The discussions will center on the enhanced participation of civil society in working out and implementing public policies, promoting and strengthening the financial durability of civil society.
The participants will also discuss the adjustment of the basic and related normative framework in accordance with the European recommendations, the Volunteering Law and the regulations concerning the implementation of the Volunteering Law. There will be presented reports on the implementation of the 2012-2015 Civil Society Development Strategy, IPN reports, quoting the Parliament’s press service.
The meeting will be attended by ambassadors, foreign experts and representatives of the central public authorities. In the opening of the conference, welcoming speeches will be delivered by Head of Parliament Igor Corman, Deputy Head of Parliament Liliana Palihovici, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, and chairman of the National NGO Council Alexei Buzu.
The annual conference “Cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society” will take place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau on April 29. It is organized by the Parliament of Moldova, in cooperation with the National NGO Council and with the support of the development partners. The event is aimed at implementing the participatory democracy practices defined in the strategy of cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society.
