Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu said the Liberal Party (PL) is still ready to become involved in the formation of a solid pro-European parliamentary majority that would support the reformist activity of the future Government. “Our doors and phones are open. We are ready to continue the discussions on all the platforms,” the lawmaker has told IPN when contacted by phone.
Valeriu Munteanu noted that the PL considers any dialogue and in any format is useful and necessary for Moldova to come as closer to the EU as possible. The PL’s Political Bureau will hold a meeting in the evening of February 10 and the resumption of the discussions with Iurie Leanca can be discussed there.
The head of the Communist parliamentary group Violeta Ivanov stated for IPN that the faction is still waiting for the Government’s program for examining it and will then decide the date and hour of a meeting with Iurie Leanca.
The Leanca II Government will ask for a vote of confidence from Parliament on February 12. The candidate for premiership has so far secured the support of the PLDM and PDM. The Socialists announced they will not vote for him.
