Shor Party lawmaker Marina Tauber has been detained for 72 hours. This was confirmed to IPN by Mariana Cherpec, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The detention came shortly after Tauber was stripped of parliamentary immunity. Acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu told Parliament’s plenary meeting today that Tauber was suspected of falsifying her party’s financial reports. The case has been merged with an another ongoing prosecutorial investigation which looks into the alleged illegal funding of Tauber’s Balti mayoral campaign in November 2021.
