MP of the DA Platform of the ACUM Bloc Alexandru Slusari requested the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office to provide information about the investigation into the illegal financing of the Party of Socialists the criminal case over which was restarted last November following a repeated request made by the leader of the PPPDA Andrei Năstase. The MP informed about this through a post on Facebook, IPN reports.
According to Alexandru Slusari, three months have passed since the case was restarted and the people should know if the witnesses were questioned, if someone was charged, what progress was made in the investigation and if someone didn’t attempt again to drop this case.
The ordinance of July 8, 2019 not to take legal action over the illegal financing of the Party of Socialists was annulled at the end of last November after Andrei Năstase made a relevant approach to the Prosecutor General’s Office. He provided again recordings of the discussion between President Dodon and the former Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc, who served then as an MP. The recordings say the party that was led by Igor Dodon before he was elected President is financed by Russia with almost US$700,000 a month.
