Communist lawmaker Grigore Petrenco calls on the parliamentary groups to interrupt their leave and to convene an extraordinary sitting of Parliament to discuss the problems faced by the Moldovan farmers, IPN reports.
In the program “Exclusive” held in the studio of the newspaper “Panorama”, Petrenco said that he didn’t discuss the request to convoke an extraordinary sitting with the Communist faction as the administration of the Communist Party is on vacation.
The Communist MP suggests discussing in the meeting the denouncing of the Association Agreement with the EU and the disastrous situation created in Moldova’s agriculture following the imposition by Russia of a ban on imports from Moldova.
“The Moldovan producers are not yet ready to export apples to the EU as our fruits do not meet the European standards. The authorities hurried to ratify the accord instead of preparing the country for the new trading conditions with the EU,” stated Grigore Petrenco.
He is convinced that the Standing Bureau of Parliament will convoke the MPs in a week if one third of the lawmakers support the request to call an extraordinary sitting.
