Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea demands the law enforcement bodies to investigate whether the First Deputy Speaker, PDM’s Vlad Plahotniuc, is involved in fraud schemes at state-owned companies Franzeluta, Metal Feros and Moldtelecom. The statements of Prime Minister Vlad Filat of Liberal-Democratic MPs should be considered as reasons for an investigation. Godea also wants PDM parliamentarian Adrian Candu’s accusations against Vlad Filat to be considered as well.
On June 30, at a pres conference, he addressed his call to the Prosecutor General, Valeriu Zubco, the Minister of the Interior, Alexei Roibu, the director of the Security and Intelligence Service, Gheorghe Mihai, and the director of the Center for Fighting Economic Crimes and Corruption, Viorel Chetraru.
“It’s bad when criminals walk on the street or hold important offices within the state”, said Godea. He stressed that the law enforcement bodies should find out the truth and inform the people. “We should let responsible institutions investigate economic crimes and infringements and answer the people confused by this war of statements”, the MP added.
Mihai Godea asked the relevant bodies to find out if Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who admitted he knew about Vlad Plahotniuc’s fraud schemes for two years, could be accused of complicity.
“If some infringements or economic crimes were committed, the guilty ones must be punished. If these are mere declarations, the AIE members should wake up from this state of apathy or agony and start working because reforms can’t wait anymore”, he said.
On June 24, Prime Minister Vlad Filat declared during a press conference that PDM’s Vlad Plahotniuc was “the puppeteer”. The PLDM leader said “the puppeteer” was restless and tried to impose its own rules. Filat claimed he wouldn’t tolerate it anymore and would sort things out at Franzeluta, Metal Feros and other state-owned companies. On the other side, Democratic parliamentarian Adrian Candu accused the Liberal-Democrats of illicit economic interests in Aroma and Tutun CTC companies, and in the privatization of Franzeluta, Moldtelecom and Metal Feros.
