Unaffiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea considers the negotiations on the formation of a new Government should be open to the public. He said that if the three parties of the former ruling alliance want to constitute a credible Cabinet, the negotiations must be transparent and the press must have access to the meetings, IPN reports.

In a pres briefing before the March 21 sitting of Parliament, Mihai Godea said that by initiating the dismissal of the executive and by voting against the Filat Government on March 5, he wanted to give a cold shower to the politicians. If neither the press nor civil society has access to the negotiations, the people will not have guarantees that the parties do not share the seats of power between them. The MP urged President Nicolae Timofti to set a time limit by which the new Prime Minister will be named.

On March 13, the PLDM, PDM and PL opened negotiations on the creation of a new parliamentary majority and the formation of a new Cabinet. On March 20, the head of state launched consultations with the parliamentary groups so as to identify a candidate for premiership.
