MP Vlad Batrîncea, of the Communists and Socialists Bloc, says that if light is to be shed in the bank fraud case, we should not operate with half-truths and that the all facts should be revealed, even if they hurt. According to him, the justice system must not be politically oriented and should not waver from calling the names of targeted politicians targeted, regardless of their political orientation. The MP voiced his concerns during the Parliament plenary session, when parliamentary hearings were to be held on the progress the recovery of funds embezzled from the banking system.

"Since 2014, we were the ones to protested both before the National Bank and the Prosecutor's Office. At that point, we, the socialists, were accused of trying to destabilize the political situation ahead of the election campaign. However, the entire society learned about what had happened in the banking system. Due to the upcoming elections of 2014, the then ruling regime somehow decided to keep the banking theft under secrecy. Seven years have passed and we are obviously not satisfied. That is why we criticize the recovering process of the embezzled funds", the MP said.

Vlad Batrîncea said that a scapegoat is being sought; however, the bank fraud was made possible thanks to the involvement of politicians, due to the amendment of the legislation, in particular amendments to the legislation on the BNM. "This theft was well planned by the cabinet and some political actors from Parliament. Some political leaders directly involved. Obviously, the autonomous and independent national regulator, the National Bank, was also involved in the theft. It allowed huge amounts of money to be siphoned out of the country", the MP said.

According to him, the BCS cannot be complacent about the information provided on the recovery of the embezzled money. The money was recovered exclusively from the sale of the banks' assets. The MP added that he was not criticizing the report or its authors, but the draft resolution elaborated by the Legal Committee on Appointments and Immunities. According to him, the information provided by the Prosecutor General's Office needs to be further studied, while the current draft resolution does not show a practical a approach.
