MP Anatol Taranu requests to dismiss Corneliu Mihalache from the post of member of the Audiovisual Coordinating Council for publishing certain political articles, what contravenes the status of member of ACC. Mihalache rejects the allegations.
Taranu stated at Thursday’s Parliament sitting, on November 2, that an article whose author is Corneliu Mihalache was recently published in a number of “Puls” newspaper. He asked the specialized Commission to examine the given case and present conclusions to the Parliament. Taranu said that he foresees the results, but the public opinion must acknowledge the conditions under which the Audiovisual’s reform is organized and its consequences. Because he broke the oath of the ACC member, Corneliu Mihalache deserves to be dismissed from this post, Taranu said.
Requested by Info-Prim Neo, Corneliu Mihalache rejected Taranu’s accusations, mentioning that the named article was not written by him. He said he complied with the legislation in force and recently submitted a request to leave the Communist Party, as well as a request to resign as chief editor of the “Puls” newspaper.
Also at the Thursday’s sitting, the Parliament appointed the ninth member of ACC – Camelia Albu, a candidature that was not examined along with the other ones because of her absence.
Eight members of ACC were appointed by the Parliament, through the vote of the communist and Christian democratic MPs, on October 20, 2006. In compliance with the legislation in force, within two months, ACC has to field to the plenum the candidatures for the position of member of the Observers Council of the “Teleradio-Moldova” Company. Sources from the ACC informed that the date of the first meeting of ACC in its new composition was not set yet.
