Upright and competent persons with unionist views are urged to join the People’s Unionist List for the parliamentary elections of 2018, which is opened by the Movement “For Nation and Country”.

In a news inference at IPN, the Movement’s representative Andrei Groza, first pro-rector of the Public Administration Academy, said that after it became clear that the unionist parties will not take part in the parliamentary elections under a common list, the initiative group for the People’s Unionist List on March 1 made public the Statement on Moldova’s reunification with Romania. Based on the goal and principles formulated in the Statement, the initiative group on March 14 founded the Movement “For Nation and Country”.

The following persons accepted so far to run in this year’s legislative elections as candidates on behalf of the Movement “For Nation and Country”:  businessman Ion Bilba, journalist Gheorghe Birsan, lawyer Alexandru Chisnencu, ex-minister of the interior and defense Ion Costas, first pro-rector of the Public Administration Academy Andrei Groza, chairman of the Ciocana branch of the civil society “Dacia” Vasile Nastas, doctor-engineer Vasile Onceanu, emeritus artist Maria Stoianov, writer Andrei Strimbeanu and historian Ion Sendrea.

Andrei Strimbeanu said that after 1918, we now have a unique reunification chance, when the lower strata launched the union with the motherland Romania. This chance should not be lost. These people, who think about fleeing Moldova, should not be disappointed. “We reached a state like never before in history. Neither the Turks, nor the Ottoman Empire did it. These collected tribute from us and left us alone at least, while the current rulers act in a different way. They interfere and want to have everything under control and we should shout how nice the Democratic Party is and how nice Sandu, Andrei Nastase and all the others who do not want to hear about the union are,” noted the writer.

Maria Stoianov said the people no longer believe in parties as these made only promises and did nothing else, but transmit the seats of MP to grandchildren, cousins and other relatives and polish their image on TV. “This is an attempt to sincerely place our Romanian, traditional values – love for the nation and country – at the forefront,” she stated.

Historian Ilie Sendrea said forces should be combined to unite with the motherland as the nation must have a homeland.

The representatives of the Movement called on all the people who support the reunification idea to come to the event that was set to take place in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau on March 25 so as to show everyone that they are many in number, are united and cannot be prevented from following the road of return home.
