A large pile of earth collapsed over a man working on Grigore Vieru Blvd in Chsinau. The 49-year-old man didn’t survive.
Diana Turcan, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, said the rescuers were called at about 1:15pm. A rescue team and a SMURD team travelled to the scene. The man was already dead. The mound that fell over him was almost seven meters in height.
The rescuers are trying to recover the dead body of the worker, but their efforts are hampered by the earth that continues to fall down.
