The leader of the NGO “Moldova mea”, Fiodor Ghelici, the manager of “TransGhelici” SRL company, announced Tuesday he intends to set fire to more trucks on the Great National Assembly Square. Those trucks carry Dacias from Romania to Ukraine. A number of motor transporters informed the Chisinau City Hall they would protest on July 1 on the main square of Chisinau, “because the Transport Ministry does not issue them the necessary documents to go to those countries.” The protest has not taken place, however. Unofficial sources told Info-Prim Neo that Fiodor Ghelici and the drivers of three trucks were held back by the police as they were heading for the square. The information has been confirmed by the police from Rascani district of the capital.
At a news conference on Tuesday morning, the representatives of the motor transporting firms have accused the International Transport National Agency of not issuing them authorizations for carrying goods beyond the borders. They say their auto-carriers loaded with Dacia Logans from Romania cannot leave for Ukraine, as due, because they not issued the necessary documents to cross Moldova.
Transporters say they are desperate and called on all the authorities, but nobody wants to help them out. “Romania gives us work, while our state deprives us from the right to work,” Fiodor Ghelici said. The deputy manager of the company “Oversan”, Vasile Vacarea, the transporters run the risk of being sanctioned for not delivering the cars in time.
When this story was disseminated, Fiodor Ghelici was not to be found. Police sources have told Info-Prim Neo that Fiodor Ghelici was arrested for illegally depriving the truck drivers of driver licenses, as the drivers were arrested because they refused to drive the cars to the police's parking lot.
