[Upd. - replaces previous] Stela Surkichyan, the mother of Ilie Cazac, was reported missing by her family on Wednesday evening, but the information was retracted one hour later. Alexandr Vinitski, the husband, eventually got in touch with his wife by phone and apologized for having alarmed so many people. Alexandr Vinitski, the husband, told Info-Prim Neo that his wife had left yesterday for Bender, their home town, and hadn't answered the phone until recently. Alexandr Vinistki feared that her disappearance might be related to her recent interview with a “news agency from Prague”.“I'm very worried. I've called the Government and the OSCE to find my wife. I'm in despair, my son has been detained and now my wife has gone missing”, he said then. Ilie Cazac, 24, was a tax inspector in Bender before being arrested in March by the Transnistrian forces on charges of treason and spying in favor of Moldova, under which he faces 20 years in prison. His parents protested for almost two months in front of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau seeking his release.
