Mother of killed girl confirms PL leader’s words

The Liberal Party’s candidate for mayor general of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca brought the mother of the girl about whom the Liberal Party (PL) said that was raped and murdered by the Communist councilor Anatolie Tofan 23 years ago before the press. “People like Anatolie Tofan, who raped and killed a child aged 12, should be shot dead, not allowed to govern the country! He is a robber and bandit. Down with the Communists, the thieves!” the woman said in a press briefing organized by the PL, Info-Prim Neo reports. “On May 14, 1988, my girl went to play together with Anatol Tofan’s sister. Tofan raped her and stabbed her three times. I looked for her a week and found her buried in his yard. He buried her together with his father. He was tried and sentenced to only 10 years in jail,” said the girl’s mother Elena Mocreac. “Anatol Tofan, Igor Dodon and all the other Communists lied when they said that they have no connection with this crime. Today, we bring to an end the Communist ideology that victimized hundreds of thousands of people,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. He called on the Communist members of the Chisinau Council to leave the PCRM. He also said that by his behavior until now Anatolie Tofan showed that he is a criminal. “He does not have the courage to say what he did, even if he served time in prison for his crime. I do not doubt that he is a criminal,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. The PCRM councilor Anatol Tofan told the journalists the same day that the information spread by the PL is untrue. “These are aberrations and I do not want to comment on them. I will sue the persons who disseminate such information,” he stated.
