A woman aged 44 and her child of only five months died in a house fire in Danu village of Glodeni district. Contacted by IPN, mayor of Danu Mihai Ursu said the fire happened in the house of one of the eldest sons of the woman. The man’s family, which has two children and is expecting the third, remained without a shelter, IPN reports.
The victim also has a son who works in Russia and another one who stays with his father, elsewhere.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the firemen were alerted at about 2am last night. It is alleged that the fire was the result of careless use of open fire. The house was disconnected from the electric power supply.
Local authorities said the house wasn’t disconnected because of debts for power.
