The citizens of Chisinau most of the times seek help from the General Public Amenities Division in such problems as repair of roofs, buildings and engineering networks, the Division’s head Ion Burdiumov stated in the December 17 meeting of officials of municipal services when presenting the report for 2018, IPN reports.
Ion Burdiumov said 100 playgrounds are to be set up in yards of apartment buildings in 2018 and 12 million lei was allocated for the purpose. Some 70% of the planned playgrounds were built and 8.3 million lei of the allocated sum was used. “The contract was signed in August and the contractor continues to work,” stated the functionary.
Ion Burdiumov also said they managed to lay out 35 fitness areas. Only 3.9 million lei of the allocated 4.3 million lei was used. There were also built 35 workout areas at a cost 1.4 million. An amount of 1.4 million was earmarked for the purpose. The Division managed to set up five sportsgrounds and the works cost 3.8 million lei. A number of 350 poles with street signs and 23 poles with tourist signs were placed.
In concert with the National Ecological Fund, there were installed 99 waste collection containers with an allotted budget of 5.1 million lei. The bed of the Durlești River was reinforced and a sewer was built there. Other works were also carried out there with a budget totaling 4 million lei.
As to the modernization of apartment buildings, Ion Burdiumov said there were installed 18 elevators and extensively repaired 21 roofs, while 16 apartment buildings had the water and sewer pipes repaired. The Division’s employees were involved in the rehabilitation of the apartment building on Moscova Blvd that was destroyed by a blast at the start of October.
