Most minibus routes in Chisinau are on strike

Most minibus routes in Chisinau have joined today's strike, except for several operators, confirmed municipal transportation and roads chief Adrian Boldurescu. Boldurescu has told Info-Prim Neo that field observations have been undertaken to determine the precise number of minibuses that stopped their work. Ion Frincu, the leader of a minibus drivers' group and an employee on route 120, said that so for all the minibuses on his route are at work but some drivers intend to join the strike action, especially after they heard that unidentified persons broke the windshield of a minibus on route 188 this morning. The strike is intended to persuade the municipal authorities into raising the minibus fare from 3 to 5 lei.
