Update (2:00pm): The most difficult situation in Chisinau municipality is on Bacioii Noi St. The street wasn’t blocked, but traffic moves with difficulty there. A number of 28 cases of failure in the public power system were reported in Chisinau municipality. The municipal lighting company “Lumteh” dealt with five cases of rupture of electric cables. A number of homes in Sangera town and Dobrogea village remained without electricity.

The municipal authorities of Chisinau said the sloping streets in the capital city were closed to traffic as the layer of ice and snow that formed on the asphalt poses threats. These are the streets: Ganea, Timis, Postei, Vadul lui Voda, Paris, Podul Inalt, Causeni, and the by-street Uzinelor.
The public transport in Chisinau runs according to schedule. The municipal services are spreading antiskid material and are cleaning primarily the streets used by public transport.
In a meeting held at the City Hall, acting mayor Silvia Radu requested the business entities to clear their premises of snow. It was reported that a municipal crisis cell was created to monitor the situation in the city and will inform about the state of affairs every three hours.
