Moscow and Tiraspol call peace forces of Dniestre to strengthen region’s security control

Delegations of Russia and Transnistria in the Joint Control Commission (CUC) called peace forces of Dniestre to strengthen the control over region’s security related to worsening of social-political situation in the region, according to Russian reports. „We warned our militaries on the possibilities to start certain challenges in the security zone and we asked them to show vigilance regarding the created situation,” the leader of Russian delegation in CUC, Victor Sanin, said during the meeting of the commission held on 9 March, in Tighina (Bender). According to him, it is not about extraordinary measures, as the situation in the security zone could be controlled and coordinated. On Friday, 10 March, Russian government foresees to take a decision on the situation created at the Moldovan-Ukrainian frontier as result of modification, on 3 March 2006, of the goods transit regime from Transistria.
