More Transnistrian businessmen registered in Chisinau

In May alone, 53 Transnistrian businessmen registered at the State Registration Chamber (CIS) of Moldova, representing one third of the total number of 168 businessmen of the region, registered by CIS. 70 of them have temporary registration with the code IDNO, and 98 – permanent registration. According to the Ministry of Reintegration (MR), within the period February 13 – May 19, 21 businessmen from the Transnistrian region addressed to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, who were issued 479 certificates of origin and export licenses, including 407 – preferential. The volume of export-import goods of the enterprises of Transnistrian region, checked by the Customs Service of Moldova was, in the first quarter, of 370,6 million lei, including for export – 252,9 million, and for import –117,6 million lei. The amounts paid by businessmen of Transnistrain region within export-import operations starting 1 August 2004 were reimbursed integrally, MR noted. In its last report, the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine appreciated the efforts of RM and Ukraine on Transnistrian segment and confirmed its availability to monitor further this process. At the same time, the Mission recommends to increase the number of mobile patrols, especially on the Transnistrian segment bordering with Ukraine, motivated by the existence of multiple smuggling groups of criminal organizations. The new customs regulations at Moldovan-Ukrainian border were implemented on 3 March 2006, according to the agreement concluded, at the end of last year, between Prime Ministers of Moldova and Ukraine.
