The number of traffic police patrols on the national roads will be increased on Low Sunday, April 22 and 23, because the traffic is heavier in the period and there appear traffic jams, Info-Prim Neo reports. Traffic Police Division head Sergiu Armasu told a news conference that about 300,000 units of transport entered the country during the Easter holidays. “For us, it is an additional burden and thus the forces and means of the traffic police will be supplemented,” he stated. Special attention will be paid to the parking lots. The Traffic Police recommends the drivers to avoid the illegal parking places near shopping center and cemeteries. Patrolling on the national roads will be stepped up. The traffic police teams will become involved where there is congestion. They will travel in front of the column in order to fluidize traffic. In a meeting with traffic inspectors on April 20, the inspectors were instructed how to act. Every traffic police officer received by a guide of conduct. According to the Traffic Police Division, the 18 road accidents that happened in Moldova on Low Sunday last year resulted in three deaths and 25 persons injured.
